Stained Concrete
When it comes to decorative concrete, staining is rapidly becoming the most popular choice amongst contractors, business owners, architects and homeowners. You have probably seen stained concrete in restaurants, hotels and retail spaces, but you might not have realized it was concrete. The process of transforming a basic cement slab into something of beauty is gaining in notoriety because it’s affordable, durable and completely customizable. Maybe you are thinking about an upscale look for your custom home, or perhaps you prefer to envelope yourself in an aura that feels Tuscan? Considering going the contemporary look for your retail space or office, or are you thinking about a Southwestern feel? Whatever your tastes may be, we can achieve the look through concrete staining.

There are plenty of benefits regarding stained concrete flooring – it’s durable, easy to maintain and available in a wide range of colors. When it comes to cleaning an interior stained concrete floor, you just mop with warm water as needed. Use a gentle floor cleaner when necessary, and waxing should only be done once a year for normal traffic areas; 3-4 times per year for higher traffic. If your stained concrete gets scratched, use a natural hair pad to buff out imperfections. If the scratching is significant, you may need to rent a high-speed floor buffing machine. For exterior stained concrete, never use a pressure washer. Sweep debris from the surface and simply mop with warm water. If mildew is present, add a capful of bleach to the water. Resealing should only be done when necessary, as too much sealer can get slippery.

Decorative Concrete Floors
We imprint patterns in freshly poured concrete, to attain a look of brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures. These projects typically are for Walkways, Driveways, Patios and Swimming Pool Decks. However, if it is a flat surfaced concrete project, it characteristically can be a decorative concrete finish. One example would be a slab foundation for a home or office.

Contractor Awareness & Concrete Tips
Oftentimes customers are working with builders on other projects around the home. We will gladly consult with your concrete contractor or builder. Here are some tips to consider when having concrete poured with the intent of using the slab for the finished floor:
Do not walk on slab before it’s fully hardened. This will avoid footprints.
Do not use tarps or any other moisture resistant covers on the slab. This holds in moisture in the covered areas and contaminates the slab.
Concrete is a porous material similar to wood and is very susceptible to staining.
Do not write on slab with anything except pencil.
